Gourd Art class will start on Monday, November 30 from 9-5 . This class will be taught by Charles Sanders, famous gourd artists from Norman . Sanders said, “Nature makes art and you modify it.” The cost of the class is the purchase of a gourd Sanders has grown. Sanders plans on showing students how to soak the gourd apply surface treatment and finish the gourd. Several examples of his gourds will be available to view. He uses mixed media, burnt, beaded and painted surface treatments. Sanders also cuts the gourd in different ways to make vases, bowl, dippers and bird houses. This class is set up to drop in when you want and stay to work on your gourd for one or two hours. Sanders plans on staying until 5 on Saturday to work with students.

All the gourds are ten dollars or less.

Charles Sanders is the father of Margaret Dobbs of Eufaula.
